Bashful Blue!

Sometimes just using a simple one-color or two-color combo can be really beautiful. I love the color combo of Bashful Blue and Whisper White. I used materials from the "Summer Days" Simply Scrappin' Kit to put together this quick card to demo at a workshop. I added some rub-ons from Sale-A-Bration and some white ribbon and here's what I came up with!

Simply Scrappin' Kit Cards

Did you ever try out an SU! Simply Scrappin' Kit? I love to use them not only for scrapbooking, but also for making cards. For the next four days, I will be showing cards that use materials from the "Summer Days" Simply Scrappin' Kit. Each kit has a ton of textured paper, dsp, and die-cuts w/ adhesive to make some creative pages and cards. This card is a cheery card, which also uses the "Stitched Exotics" stamp set. I used Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, and Bashful Blue cs and inks. I also used some Sale-A-Bration Rub-ons, white grosgrain ribbon. Click to enlarge the card to see the stitched detail on the card. Tune in tomorrow for another sample from this kit.

Different-sized card

My super-fun upline and sideline, the Weeinkers, are getting together soon and our swap needs to be a non-standard sized card. I decided to try out a 3x6 card and it turned out really cute! I am a HUGE fan of SU's beautiful pink shades. I also love this set! It is called "Priceless" and it is so versatile. I used Rose Red, Regal Rose, and Whisper White inks and cs. I used the sentiment from the "All Holidays" set. Some other goodies used were: dd glitter, white gel pen, white grosgrain ribbon, word window punch, large square punch, silver brads, and Rose Red dsp. The word window is punched through the FRONT of the card and the sentiment is glued inside. Enjoy!

It's time for another fun Sale-A-Bration set card! I LOVE the new set "So Many Scallops." I used it to make a bright & cheery birthday card for a kiddo. I think my family has about 10 birthdays coming up! AHHH! I chose to use Real Red, Brilliant Blue, and Yoyo Yellow inks, markers, and cs for this card. I also added some silver cord, a red button, a staple, and some other stamp sets, such as: Everyday Flexible Phrases, Print Pattern background, In the Stars, and Three For You. The scallop, large circle, and word window punches were also used. Hope you enjoy this bright and fun card!

I NEED the beach!!!

Hi! I am a HUGE beach fan and this winter thing is getting old already! I am tired of being cold!! I thought I would borrow this set from my friend and make a few silly cards. Everybody loves this set! I used Soft Sky and Naturals Ivory for the base. I used black Staz-On and Water Color crayons for the cute little creatures. Itty Bitty Backgrounds, my old stand-by, is used to make the contrast in the sand. I also used some More Mustard and Going Gray for the starfish and scallops. I'm Back!

Hi All! I am back from my Gram's B-day and she had a wonderful time! The stamping bug has bit me once again, so I need to get moving on some cards. Here is a simple and elegant sympathy card that I CASEed from the Fall & Winter Collection. I changed a few odds and ends. I used the "Close As a Memory" set, along with Not Quite Navy, Mellow Moss, and Creamy Caramel inks and cs. I added some brads, gingham ribbon, and some dry embossing with my Crop-A-Dile. I also used the Canvas and Itty Bitty Backgrounds to add some dimension. The Cutter Kit was used to "roughen up" the edges. Hopefully you won't need a sympathy card and you can change it to a thinking of you. Thanks for logging on!

I hope that you all enjoyed your V-Day! I know I did. As I get ready for some future workshops, I know that I need to start on some Father's Day and Mother's Day cards. Here is a fun, easy card to demo. I also did a birthday variation. I used Taken With Teal, Real Red, and Pumpkin Pie as my color combo. These colors are used a bunch in the SU! Spring/Summer Collection. The stamp set that I used is called "Holiday Blitz." This set is an amazing, versatile set that is even great for kids! I also added some ribbon, Hodgepodge Hardware, and some buttons. The background stamp is "Print Pattern." I'll have some cards ready for you next week. I am travelling to my parent's home to celebrate my Gram's 85th b-day! Go Gram!

I wanted to show you a funky-fun b-day card I made for my friend. I used the sets "True Friend" and "Baroque Motifs" to make this girly card. The colors used are Basic Grey and Rose Red. Some elements include: ribbon, Hodgepodge Hardware, assorted punches, dsp, and a paper piercer. Hope ya like it! Enjoy your day!

Something Fun!

If you read my profile, you know that I love to read! I also love searching for really cool bookmarks. You can make these cute ones, which make great teacher gifts for V-Day, out of chipboard and jumbo paper clips. I Modgepodged dsp to chipboard and I sanded or edged with ink and added some cute ribbon, glitter, and/or charms. I also Modgepodged the outside of the chipboard as well, just to make it nice and sturdy. You can make a whole bunch of these in no time at all. Enjoy!

Yee Haw!

Sometimes I feel like I focus on female themes in my cards, so I wanted to show you a great masculine b-day card. I am using a similar theme for a Father's Day card. I used the awesome "Wanted" set, along with the best punch ever, the scallop punch. I could not live without this punch:) I used Creamy Caramel, Sage Shadow, and Chocolate Chip inks and cs. I also used some hemp twine, Hodgepodge Hardware, Canvas background, and a sentiment stamp to complete this card. Enjoy! You could easily demo this at a workshop. Oh by the way, I am TRYING to get my photography skills up to par with my cardmaking skills! Thanks for your patience.

My Baby is turning 3!!!

Hi All! I can't believe that in a few days my baby boy is turning 3! He loves when I "tamp" and make him cards, so I thought I would share his birthday card with you. I used the "Wild About You" set which is a great set to have if you have kiddos in your life. I love to use bright and bold colors when making cards for children. I chose Real Red, Glorious Green, and Yoyo Yellow cs and ink, as well as Glossy White and Basic black. I added some gingham ribbon and some hodgepodge hardware to make it extra special. Tha background dry embossing is done with my Cuttlebug machine. Yeah Mom and Dad! Great Christmas present. If you don't already own one of these babies, I would run out an buy one!

I made this card because I wanted to make my thank you cards personal to my family. The "All In The Family" set works perfectly! You can use the mix and match "people parts" to portray your own crew. Along with the family set, I also used Curvy Verses and the heart is from Time Well Spent (Hostess Level 3). The card is made with Groovy Guava, Whisper White, and Close to Cocoa cs, Soft Sky dsp, Close To Cocoa ribbon, black Staz-On ink, and it is colored in using markers and Watercolor Wonder Crayons.

I've Been Tagged!

Wow! I am new at this stuff, but it sound's fun! My wonderful friend and 2nd upline LeAnne tagged me. She has a fantastic blog called Wee Inklings. Check it out! I am supposed to use the letters in my middle name(or if you don't have one, use your maiden name) to tell something about my self. You are also supposed to tag another blogger for each letter. I'm don't really know too many bloggers yet, but I'll try. Here goes:

E-Empathetic: I try and put myself in other people's shoes so I can try and understand what they are going through. I would want them to do the same for me:)

L-Loving- I love everyone in my life and I am working on being more loving to those with "extra grace required." Does anyone know where I can buy some patience?

A-Artistic- I have been some type of artist most of my life: oil painting, drawing, and now paper crafting(which is definitly my favorite)

I-Intent on keeping my blog new and fresh

N-Neurotic-Isn't everyone???Just a little... I hope I'm not the only one....What if I am? Just kidding:)

E-Emotional- I cry at commercials, while reading books, every single Sunday at church, and practically everytime my Little One does something sweet

Fabulous Flowers

Don't you just love the set "Fabulous Flowers?" I saw this layout in last year's Fall/Winter Collection and I had to try it! I used "Fabulous Flowers" to make this cheery card for someone who is very fabulous! I also used: Soft sky, Basic Gray, and Whisper White cs, along with Purely Pomegranate, Basic Gray, and Versamark inks. I love this polka dot ribbon from the "Sherbet" collection. Also, I used a paper peircer to make the little holes along the Basic Gray paper line and in the bottom left-hand corner. Add a pewter brad and you're done!

Enjoy Life!

Hi All! Happy Super Bowl to You! My card for today is another simple and unique card to demo. I used the "Enjoy Every Moment"set, which is great for showcasing how sometimes a fun sentiment is enough to carry the card front. I used Certainly Celery, Lavender Lace, and Regal Rose cs. My inks were: Lavender Lace and Regal Rose. I also used the ticket corner punch, gold cord and brad, Itty Bitty Backgrounds, Flowers For You dsp, and the Three for You punch. I use this punch a TON! Remember to take this sentiment to heart: Enjoy every moment...
